Explore the role creativity plays in our lives as we continue to grow and develop. Rollo May defined creativity as “the process of bringing something new into being.” This interactive session will help you consider your definition of creativity, the tasks of adult development, and how creativity can help you manage the challenges you may face as you age. Christina May will share the results of research she conducted with creative older individuals.

Christina (Chris) May earned her Ph.D. at age 60 from Saybrook University. She was the first person to earn a Certificate in Creativity and was honored to receive the Rollo May Award. May and her husband, John Creveling were self-employed for 18 hears providing consulting, training and career development services for organizations and individuals. They were also involved in Active Retirement Workshops for the Coming-of-Age Initiative.

May's work history includes high school and college teaching providing career continuation services for major outplacement consulting firms, and writing the first self-help book for women in the process of divorce. She is a graduate of Temple university and earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology and organizational behavior from George Williams College in Chicago.
