About this event

The Four Documents: Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives

An education on the four documents you need to have

Wednesday, August 6, 2025
MacColl Room at 2:00pm
  First Presbyterian Church
201 S. 21st St

In this helpful session, participants will learn about the four essential legal documents every adult should have: a will, a durable power of attorney, a health care power of attorney, and a living will (also known as an advance directive).

The presenter brings real-world experience and explains each document in plain language, helping attendees feel more confident and prepared before meeting with an attorney. Understanding these basics can save time, reduce legal costs, and provide peace of mind for both individuals and their families.

Howard Wiener is a retired career prosecutor (Assistant U.S. Attorney) with the Department of Justice. He has handled many kinds of cases and had numerous trials over his career. He has lectured to fellow prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and law students. He has also given talks at senior citizen centers and a business forum on how to avoid being a fraud and cybercrime victim.
