It was that time of year - when we were all concerned about getting colds, flu and Covid. Eating “superfoods” can help strengthen our immune systems and potentially prevent diseases and ease symptoms. At this program, our speaker set up a “Wellness station” with examples of superfoods, including kale/spinach, ginger, turmeric, matcha tea, sauerkraut, quinoa, berries, chia seeds, hemp seeds, garlic, sweet potatoes, and broccoli. Two recipes were prepared for members to sample. A discussion of the health benefits of the superfoods and healthy snacks displayed at the table was conducted, and guests were provided with supplemental handouts with additional information on flu prevention and healthy eating.
